Whatsapp is going to stop working on iOS 8 models on February 1, 2020
"On iOS 8, you can no longer create new bills or reverify existing accounts," stated the update.
So iPhone customers will want iOS 9 or later to run WhatsApp.

"For the first-class experience, we advocate you use the modern-day version of iOS on hand for your phone," WhatsApp said.
WhatsApp said that users of Android versions 2.3.7 and older will no longer be capable to create new accounts, nor reverify existing accounts.
However, they will be capable to proceed with the usage of WhatsApp until February 1, 2020.
